Adam & Jen

Jen grew up in small-town northern Michigan. Adam grew up in small-town Massachusetts. Both their families ended up chasing the same thing — a little more warmth — and Florida is where that search landed them. Jen and Adam met there, by pure luck, bonding fast over bad puns and a shared love of adventure. Every family holiday since has doubled as an unofficial dad-joke competition. Doofus Life wasn't so much founded as it was inevitable.

The Tattoo That Started It All

Long before there was a brand, there was a tattoo. Adam got it during his time in the Navy — a small, wide-eyed, slightly chaotic little imp that's been on his arm ever since. Ask him exactly how it happened and you'll get a grin and not much else; some shore-leave stories are staying overseas. But the character stuck. Years later, when Jen and Adam started dreaming up a brand built on dad jokes and not taking life too seriously, that same little guy was the obvious answer to "what should our mascot look like?" He didn't need to be invented — he'd been waiting on Adam's arm the whole time.

That's the Little Doofus. Excited about everything, a little clueless about most of it, having the time of his life regardless. Why so serious?

KL Edition - In Honor of Kevin

The KL Edition is named for Adam's dad, Kevin — a man who was happiest outdoors, whether that meant a boat, a trail, or anywhere with a decent fishing spot. This line carries his spirit into the Doofus world: same wide-eyed little imp, dressed for adventure. A portion of every KL Edition sale goes to causes Kevin cared about.
